How did we capture the shoe?
We used photogrammetry, set lighting, and controlled camera movements to integrate the shoe into the 3D world. The result is a hyper-realistic model that blends naturally with real footage, making it nearly impossible to tell what’s real and what’s CG.

Scanning
We scanned the shoe using Polycam, capturing high detail with proper lighting. Shadows were recorded on set, ensuring a more realistic result that made the model almost indistinguishable from reality.
Optimizing
After scanning, we refined the model in Blender, cleaning artifacts and adjusting materials to match the real shoe. Fine-tuning shaders and textures helped achieve a photorealistic result.

Result
Final touches like color grading in DaVinci Resolve and effects like motion blur and depth of field made the 3D shoe blend seamlessly into the scene, creating shots that wouldn’t be possible with real cameras.
Live Action
Filming took place in Belgium and the Canary Islands, blending real footage with 3D shots. By matching lighting and camera angles, we erased the line between CG and reality, making the transitions between both feel seamless.

Collaboration
This project was a collaboration with Felix Verhous, a talented filmmaker from Brussels. Someone I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with. His expertise and vision helped bring everything together, making the final result even more polished and visually stunning.
